Gulabchand Kataria, the Governor of Punjab and Chandigarh Administrator, graced the occasion alongside Tarachand Jain, Udaipur City MLA, and Ramanand Chaudhary, General Secretary of the Indian Volleyball Federation.
During his address, Governor Kataria expressed immense pride in Udaipur's growing sports infrastructure. Organizers revealed impressive details about the tournament preparation, disclosing that two professional beach volleyball courts were constructed specifically for this event. The massive undertaking required 800 tons of special sand transported all the way from Gujarat to create the perfect playing surface for the athletes.
The competition format features league matches with the top eight men's and women's university teams battling for supremacy. Interestingly, a significant number of participating teams hail from Tamil Nadu, demonstrating the national appeal of the Khelo India University Games.
