Budweiser Gallops to Victory at Lucknow's Race Course and Turf Club

The Race Course and Turf Club at the MB Club in Lucknow was abuzz with excitement on Sunday as the Indianbred horse Budweiser stole the show, drawing cheers from spectators who eagerly took selfies with the champion. The event attracted a diverse crowd of families, young enthusiasts, and equestrian aficionados, all basking in the sunny winter afternoon while enjoying snacks and drinks from the stands.

Thrilling Races in Two Categories

The races were organized into two distinct categories: Indianbred and Thoroughbred. In the Indianbred category, twelve horses competed, including notable names such as Golden Boy, Rudra, Budweiser, Uncle's Pet, and Lemon Drop. The Thoroughbred category featured a lineup of seven horses: Pinnacle Point, Golden Oaks, Angel In My Heart, Shan-e-Azeem, Chopin, Mariella, and Buckley.

Children pressed against the iron railings, clapping and cheering for their favorite horses, with excitement peaking each time announcements were made. Between events, a jazz band entertained visitors with a mix of filmy hits and soft romantic songs, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Indianbred Category Results

In the Indianbred race, Budweiser, owned by Naisha Jaiswal and ridden by Monu, secured first place and won a cash prize of Rs 5,000. Rudra, owned by Vikas Pandey and ridden by Krish, finished second, receiving Rs 3,000. Lemon Drop, owned by Aishvarya Mathur and Aparajita Mathur and ridden by Miraj, came in third, earning Rs 2,000.

Thoroughbred Category Winners

The Thoroughbred category saw Angel In My Heart, owned by J N Mathur and ridden by Mayank, claim first place with a prize of Rs 10,000. Pinnacle Point, owned by Amar Habibullah and ridden by Atif Khan, finished second, winning Rs 7,000. Buckley, owned by Mohammad Abdullah and ridden by Sohail, secured third place and received Rs 4,000.

Spectator Reactions and Style Awards

Spectators shared their enthusiasm for the event. Manisha Vohra, an equestrian herself, remarked, "I have been watching races since childhood, and this brings back wonderful memories." Teenager Raman Prakash added, "Horse riding is my favorite sport, and coming to watch these races is a real treat for my eyes."

Apart from the races, prizes were awarded for style and presentation. Raina Pandey won the Best Dressed Lady award, while Col Nagar received the Best Dressed Male title. A young couple, Richa and Arjun, were honored with the ‘Made for Each Other' title in another category, highlighting the event's community spirit.

The sunny winter day provided the perfect backdrop for this engaging equestrian spectacle, making it a memorable experience for all attendees.
