Influencer Boxer Deen the Great Sparks Controversy by Taunting UFC Veteran Bobby Green
Influencer boxer Deen the Great, whose real name is Nurideen Shabazz, has once again found himself at the center of controversy following a heated exchange with UFC lightweight contender Bobby Green. The incident occurred at a private house party, where Shabazz was captured on video mocking Green's professional career and attempting to provoke him into a physical altercation.
Escalating Tensions at House Party
The viral footage shows Nurideen Shabazz repeatedly taunting Bobby Green about his past knockout losses in the UFC. The influencer boxer confidently declared that he would defeat the seasoned veteran and even went as far as stating he would risk all his personal assets on such a match. His provocative remarks appeared specifically designed to elicit a reaction from Green in front of the assembled crowd.
This latest incident comes just weeks after Shabazz faced significant backlash for threatening retired UFC fighter Tiki Ghosn and being slapped by strength athlete Larry Wheels, highlighting a pattern of confrontational behavior.
Bobby Green's Unexpected Response
Bobby Green, who has competed in more than fifty professional mixed martial arts bouts, did not retreat from the challenge. Instead, the veteran fighter responded by producing a substantial amount of cash on the spot and challenging Shabazz to settle their differences immediately. Green made it unequivocally clear that if Shabazz was serious about his bold claims, they could resolve the matter right then and there in front of all witnesses.
The situation threatened to escalate rapidly as both men appeared ready to engage physically, creating a tense atmosphere at the gathering.
Rampage Jackson's Timely Intervention
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson stepped between the two men as tensions reached their peak. Jackson warned Shabazz not to repeat the same mistake he made previously with Tiki Ghosn, pointing out a crucial distinction between the two situations.
"While Ghosn was retired from active competition, Green remains a current UFC fighter who recently secured a knockout victory," Jackson emphasized during the intervention.
Jackson's authoritative presence and timely intervention helped de-escalate the situation before it could transform into a physical altercation, potentially preventing serious consequences for both parties involved.
Bobby Green's Current Form and Career Trajectory
Meanwhile, Bobby Green has been demonstrating impressive form inside the UFC Octagon. The lightweight contender recently secured a knockout victory over Daniel Zellhuber at UFC Mexico City on February 28th, extending his winning streak to two consecutive fights.
Following this victory, Green had expressed interest in facing big-name opponent Nate Diaz. However, those plans are no longer feasible as Diaz is scheduled to face Mike Perry in a separate bout, leaving Green to pursue other opportunities within the competitive lightweight division.
The incident with Deen the Great represents an unwelcome distraction for Green as he continues his pursuit of championship contention in one of the UFC's most competitive weight classes.
