Another Drake Maye and Ann Michael Maye in the making? While the 2025 Christmas season was occupied by New England Patriots star quarterback Drake Maye and his wife, Ann Michael Maye, with their Bakemas series, the 2026 offseason and summer seem to be dominated by Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson and his fiancée, Haley Cavinder.
Comparing Two Different Sandwich Scenarios
The Dallas Cowboys tight end has been critically rating sandwiches made by his fiancée and former basketball player. Comparing Jake Ferguson rating his fiancée Haley Cavinder's sandwiches to Shilo Sanders' comment on Mary Kay Cabot might seem unusual, but it highlights a significant contrast. These are two different sandwich scenarios: on one hand, a critique of a sandwich made by a fiancée; on the other, a player wants a female reporter to make a sandwich. The fiancée is making those sandwiches for her fiancé out of her own will, while the female reporter is being told to make a sandwich for commenting on the player's brother.
Jake Ferguson's Playful Sandwich Ratings
While the Jake Ferguson-Haley Cavinder situation is playful, affectionate, and emitting only summer vibes, the Shilo Sanders-Mary Kay Cabot scenario invites criticism from all over the NFL clan. It all boils down to one thought: women of today do not want to take orders from men on cooking, working, staying in the kitchen, dressing, commenting, posting, reporting, or anything else. They will cook when they want to. They will comment when they want to. The idea that they should be allowed is petty, but we live in 2026, and women should not be ordered or told to do what they do not want to do. If a woman wants to cook, she will cook. She will even make her fiancé rate her work, as in Haley Cavinder's case.
The rating is brutal, by the way. In April 2026, Ferguson said, "The sandwich gets a 6.2 out of 10." By early May 2026, he improved it to, "This is like an 8.8. This is a good sandwich. I would order this at a restaurant." Apart from rating it brutally to now leniently, because, as Jake Ferguson says, "We are going to keep evolving." When Jake Ferguson started this sandwich-reviewing series, he backed Haley Cavinder up, saying, "I am starting a series where my fiancée makes me sandwiches. For those who say that is where she belongs, she will kick your a** on the basketball court." That is an example of men supporting women who want to cook and play on the court.
Shilo Sanders' Misogynistic Comment
As for Shilo Sanders, he told Cleveland Browns popular beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot to go make a sandwich after she voiced her opinion on Deshaun Watson being the team's QB1. Shilo Sanders was upset that Mary Kay Cabot did not support his brother, Shedeur Sanders, for the QB1 position. And so? He wants her to make a sandwich. He made a sexist, misogynistic, dismissive comment to her. These are men who demean women and think that they belong only in the kitchen or doing domestic chores, rather than voicing professional opinions as NFL analysts for NFL quarterbacks. See the difference?
