Neeraj Goyat and Inspire Institute of Sport Launch India Knockout Nights Boxing League
In a significant development for Indian boxing, seasoned professional boxer Neeraj Goyat has announced a partnership with the Bellary-based Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) to launch the India Knockout Nights. This new initiative is set to kick off on February 25, aiming to provide a much-needed platform for pugilists across the country.
A Multi-City Professional Boxing League
India Knockout Nights has been conceptualized as a multi-city professional boxing league that will host regular fight nights featuring Indian talent. According to a press release from the organizers, the league will cover various weight categories and divisions, offering a structured environment for boxers to showcase their skills. The events will be streamed live on YouTube through Neeraj Goyat's official channel, ensuring wide accessibility for fans and supporters.
Addressing the Struggles of Indian Boxers
Neeraj Goyat, a three-time WBC Asian title holder, expressed his personal motivation behind this venture. "I've lived the journey of an Indian professional boxer; seen the struggles, the uncertainty, the lack of platforms. India Knockout Nights is something I deeply believe in because it gives fighters a fair shot," Goyat stated. His initiative has garnered support from former world championship bronze-medallist Nishant Dev, who now competes in the professional circuit, highlighting the collaborative effort to uplift the sport.
Building a Strong System for Future Champions
Manisha Malhotra, President of the Inspire Institute of Sport, emphasized the institute's commitment to nurturing Indian athletes. "IIS was built on a simple belief - Indian athletes, when given world-class support, can compete with the very best in the world," she said. "India Knockout Nights is a natural extension of our philosophy; it creates visibility, consistency, and a professional pathway for boxers. If we want champions tomorrow, we have to build strong systems today. This platform is a step toward that larger vision for Indian boxing," Malhotra added.
The launch of India Knockout Nights marks a pivotal moment in Indian boxing, promising to enhance the professional landscape and provide aspiring boxers with regular opportunities to compete and grow. With its multi-city format and digital streaming, the league is poised to attract a broad audience and foster a new generation of boxing talent in the country.
