IAF's Guwahati Air Show Wows Crowds on 93rd Anniversary

Guwahati Sky Transforms into Aerial Spectacle

The skies above Guwahati transformed into a vibrant canvas of colors on Sunday morning as the Indian Air Force (IAF) presented a spectacular air show that captivated thousands of residents. People gathered across ghats, fields, and open spaces throughout the city to witness the breathtaking performance of fighter jets and helicopters.

Celebrating 93 Years of Indian Air Force Excellence

Marking its 93rd anniversary, the IAF organized this spectacular display with the dual purpose of inspiring the youth and strengthening its connection with the northeastern region. The thunderous roar of engines and the impeccable precision of the aerial maneuvers left spectators awestruck, powerfully demonstrating both the strength and discipline of India's armed forces.

Families with children, students, and senior citizens flocked to both the Guwahati and North Guwahati ghats, their faces filled with pride as the jets streaked across the blue sky in perfect coordination. The sense of national pride was palpable throughout the event.

Jets, Cheers, and Traffic Snarls

The aerial display featured India's most advanced aircraft including Sukhoi-30s, Rafales, Tejas, and ALH Dhruvs, which painted the sky in tricolour patterns to roaring cheers from the ground below.

Trideep Sarmah, a student from a private college, expressed his excitement: "Watching these pilots maneuver these jets with such skill and courage is truly inspiring. This was my first time witnessing an air show, and the experience was absolutely thrilling. While it motivates us to serve our nation, there's an incredible thrill in being able to communicate with the skies itself."

Kuromi Das, a school student, shared a more reflective perspective: "Beyond the excitement of watching these jets perform aerial acrobatics, this experience helps us understand the immense dedication and effort required to be part of the IAF crew."

However, the magnificent show did cause significant traffic disruptions across key areas of the city. Vehicles were stranded for hours in neighborhoods including Chandmari, Machkhowa, Maligaon, Athgaon, and Fancy Bazar as residents flocked to witness the historic event.
