ISSF Junior World Cup Set to Showcase Global Junior Shooting Talent in Cairo
The prestigious ISSF Junior World Cup for Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun events is scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt, from April 19 to 27, 2026. This key international competition will bring together young shooters from around the world, offering a premier platform for them to demonstrate their skills and compete at the highest level.
India's Strong Junior Continent Includes Rajasthan's Rising Star
India will be fielding a robust junior team for the event, with Rajasthan's Khwaish Sharma being a standout inclusion. Her selection is a source of immense pride for Jaipur and the entire state, as she is the only shooter from Rajasthan to be part of the Indian main team and one of just two athletes selected from the state overall.
Trained in Jaipur, Khwaish Sharma specializes in the 50m Rifle and 10m Air Rifle events. She is currently ranked among the top 10 junior shooters in India in the 50m rifle category, a testament to her consistency and technical proficiency.
Khwaish Sharma's Impressive Achievements and Recognition
Hailing from Fatehpur Shekhawati in Sikar district, Khwaish has already made a mark on the international stage. She secured a bronze medal in her debut international appearance at the Asian Championship 2026. Additionally, she has won a silver medal at the Khelo India University Games and clinched both gold and silver medals at the 67th National Shooting Championship. In recognition of her outstanding achievements, she was honored by the Rajasthan Government on January 26, 2026.
