The grounds of Maharishi Dayanand Anglo Vedic (MDAV) School recently witnessed thrilling displays of agility and teamwork as the prestigious Maharani Luxmi Arya Kho-Kho Memorial Tournament reached its exciting conclusion. This celebration of one of India's most beloved traditional sports brought together young athletes in a spirited competition that honored both sporting excellence and cultural heritage.

Emerging Champions and Standout Performers

After days of intense matches and displays of remarkable sportsmanship, the tournament crowned its deserving winners. The senior boys' category saw Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 20 emerge victorious, showcasing exceptional skill and strategy throughout the competition. In the senior girls' division, the talented team from Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 18 claimed the championship title.

The junior categories displayed equally impressive talent, with Government High School, Dhanas securing victory in the boys' division while Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 20 demonstrated their kho-kho prowess by winning the junior girls' category.

Celebrating Excellence in Traditional Sports

The closing ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries who emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting indigenous Indian sports. Sh. M.L. Sharma, State President of the Samajik Samrasta Manch, presided as the chief guest, while Sh. Rakesh Rathore, State President of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, honored the event as the guest of honor.

In his address, Sh. Sharma highlighted how traditional games like kho-kho not only promote physical fitness but also instill valuable life lessons about teamwork, strategy, and cultural preservation. "These games are part of our rich heritage," he remarked, "and seeing our youth embrace them with such enthusiasm is truly heartening."
