Mauricio Ruffy vs. Michael Chandler Fight Breakdown
Mauricio Ruffy entered the fight as one of the division's fastest-rising contenders, but his assignment against former Bellator champion Michael Chandler represented the biggest test of his UFC career.
The Brazilian had already built momentum with impressive wins over King Green and Rafael Fiziev. Against Chandler, he faced a veteran known for pushing opponents into chaotic exchanges and delivering memorable fights.
Ruffy controlled the action from the opening minutes.
Chandler attempted to pressure forward early, mixing calf kicks with takedown attempts. Ruffy remained composed, using precise footwork and sharp counters to create openings. The finish arrived at the 4:29 mark of Round 1.
A spinning back kick to the head stunned Chandler. Moments later, another spinning strike sent the American crashing to the canvas, prompting the referee to stop the contest. Speaking afterward, he told the crowd, "I believe my next fight will be for the title."
The victory immediately elevated Ruffy's standing in one of the UFC's deepest divisions.
