Bhubaneswar: In the recently announced ICSE and ISC results, three students from Odisha have emerged as state toppers. Srijit Haldar from Cuttack topped the ICSE examination, while Yajnadatta Samantara from Berhampur and Garv Agarwal from Rajgangpur in Sundargarh district secured the top positions in ISC Science and Commerce streams, respectively.
Exceptional Performances
According to the Association of Odisha ICSE Schools, Srijit achieved an impressive 99.5% in ICSE. Yajnadatta also scored 99.5% in ISC Science, and Garv obtained 99% in ISC Commerce. Srijit studies at Stewart School in Cuttack, Yajnadatta at De Paul School in Berhampur, and Garv at Nirmala English School in Rajgangpur.
Srijit Haldar: Disciplined Preparation Pays Off
The 16-year-old Srijit credited his success to disciplined study and consistent preparation. He dedicated 10-11 hours daily to prepare for his Class X examination and achieved perfect scores of 100 in Mathematics, Computer Science, History, and Chemistry. "I took tuitions in Class X but focused on revising the syllabus of every subject at least twice before the exam," he said. Srijit acknowledged the support of his parents and teachers, which helped him remain confident during the exam period. He now plans to pursue science and aims to prepare for NEET.
Yajnadatta Samantara: Self-Study Leads to Success
Yajnadatta scored 100 each in Chemistry and English, and 99 each in Mathematics, Biology, and Physics. Aspiring to become a scientist, he wishes to conduct research in Chemistry. "I have never been to any coaching centre or taken tuitions. I am satisfied with my results," said the state topper, who had previously scored 92.2% in ICSE.
Garv Agarwal: Sample Papers Key to Mastery
Garv utilized sample papers as his primary preparation tool. With 8-9 hours of dedicated study over four months, he practiced hundreds of sample papers for every subject. He scored 100% in both Mathematics and Economics. "Economics, Computer Science, and Accounts are my favorite subjects. I chose not to refer to previous years' papers because every year the pattern keeps changing," said Garv, who is now preparing for the foundational stage of chartered accountancy.
Odisha's Strong Track Record
The Association of Odisha ICSE Schools noted that students from Odisha performed exceptionally well in both ICSE and ISC examinations, continuing the state's strong track record. School principals congratulated the toppers and expressed confidence that their achievements would inspire other students.
