Stefon Diggs Not Guilty, Chef Alleges $100K Bribe

Former NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs was found not guilty on charges of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault on Friday. The verdict came after a trial in Dedham, Massachusetts, where his personal chef, Jamila "Mila" Adams, accused him of striking her and placing her in a chokehold during a dispute over money in December 2025. The jury deliberated for just 90 minutes before returning the not guilty verdict on both counts. Diggs was visibly emotional, with tears streaming down his face as the decision was read.

Chef Alleges Bribe Attempt in Court

During the trial, Adams made a startling claim under cross-examination. When Diggs' attorneys questioned her about an alleged $5.5 million demand made by her legal team weeks before the trial, she responded by asserting that Diggs had personally offered her $100,000 to withdraw her police statement. The judge immediately struck the comment from the record and instructed the jury to disregard it. However, Adams reiterated the allegation in a social media statement after the verdict, writing, "He tried to make me sign an NDA. He offered me $100K to recant my statement — and no amount of money would make me lie." She also mentioned that Diggs' assistant had asked her to sign a nondisclosure agreement before any payment would be made, but she refused to be silenced.

Defense Highlights Inconsistencies

The defense pointed to several inconsistencies in Adams' account. They noted that she gave Diggs a birthday gift less than 24 hours after the alleged attack, never sought medical attention, and waited 14 days before reporting the incident. Additionally, Diggs' financial team testified that Adams had been overpaid by approximately $2,500. Throughout her testimony, the judge repeatedly reminded Adams to answer questions directly, and several of her responses were struck from the record for being non-responsive.

Post-Verdict Statement

Following the not guilty verdict, Adams released a statement expressing her frustration with how quickly women are doubted when they speak out against powerful individuals. "I refused to be silenced," she wrote, adding that facing a person with power, money, and a legal team is incredibly difficult. Her statement has sparked widespread discussion on social media.
