Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon Expo Begins

Marathon Expo Lights Up Pink City

The vibrant spirit of RunForZeroHunger returned to Jaipur as the two-day bib expo for the 10th Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon officially opened at CK Birla Hospital grounds in Gopalpura on Friday. The expo inauguration featured the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, marking the beginning of race-week celebrations that have captured the city's enthusiasm.

Cricket Star Joins as Event Ambassador

This year's marathon gains star power with Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of the Indian women's cricket team, joining as the International Event Ambassador for Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon 2025. The celebrated athlete will flag off the run at 7 am on November 30 from Mahal Road, NRI Square in Pratap Nagar, Jaipur. Her participation emphasizes the event's core messages of empowerment, resilience, and community wellbeing.

Record Participation Expected

Supported by Vedanta, organized by Any Body Can Run (ABCR), and powered by Finova Capital, the marathon will transform Jaipur's historic streets into a festive racing track. An impressive 15,000 runners from across India and overseas are expected to participate in three categories: Half Marathon (21.097 km), 10K Cool Run, and 5K Dream Run.

The race route holds significant recognition with official certification from the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), ensuring globally benchmarked standards for course accuracy and professional organization.

Fighting Child Malnutrition Through Sports

The marathon initiative closely aligns with Vedanta's flagship social impact project Nand Ghar, demonstrating the organization's commitment to eliminating child malnutrition across India. The program focuses on reimagined anganwadis that provide comprehensive support including early childhood education, nutrition, healthcare, and skill development.

In preparation for the event, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari unveiled the official race T-shirt and the special 10th-edition medal. The commemorative medal holds particular significance as it's crafted from high-grade zinc sourced from Vedanta subsidiary Hindustan Zinc, the world's largest integrated producer of zinc.

Vedanta's Growing Sports Legacy

The Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon has evolved into one of Jaipur's most anticipated annual sporting events, bringing together professional athletes, fitness enthusiasts, families, and social-impact champions. It reflects Vedanta's deep commitment to promoting health, fitness, and sports excellence throughout India.

As part of this comprehensive sports vision, Vedanta supports several major sporting events across the country, including:
