A tragic accident occurred in Bengaluru's Whitefield area on Saturday when a school bus ran over a woman, killing her on the spot. Her daughter sustained injuries in the incident.

According to the police, the victim, identified as 42-year-old Shobha, was taking her daughter Neha to college on a two-wheeler. A school bus hit them near the Whitefield main road, causing Shobha to fall under the bus wheels. She died instantly, while Neha was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Police Action
The bus driver, identified as Ramesh, has been arrested. Preliminary investigations suggest that the bus was speeding and the driver lost control. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Residents of the area expressed shock and demanded better road safety measures, especially near schools. Traffic police have been asked to review the route and ensure strict enforcement of speed limits.
