Nagpur: Jayendra Dhole and Manjiri Dhoke emerged as double champions at the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav badminton tournament, held at the Subhedar Hall on Thursday. Dhole showcased his prowess in the men's singles and doubles events of the 45+ Masters category, while Dhoke dominated the women's singles and doubles in the 35+ age group.
Men's 45+ Masters Finals
In the 45+ men's singles final, Dhole staged a remarkable comeback to defeat his doubles partner Homiyar Dumasia with scores of 9-15, 15-9, 15-8. Later, the duo of Dhole and Dumasia combined effectively to overcome the pair of Devashis Barick and Pinaki Mukherjee 15-10, 15-8 in the men's doubles final.
Women's 35+ Masters Finals
The women's 35+ singles final saw Manjiri Dhoke battle hard to edge past Swati Khandekar 15-8, 16-18, 15-9. She then partnered with Madhavi Hedaoo to secure the doubles title with a straight-games victory of 15-11, 15-10 against Anjali Kale and Anamika Durgpurohit.
Other Masters Finals
In the men's 35+ singles, Ajay Dayal dominated Priyam Subhlok 15-4, 15-12. The men's 35+ doubles title went to Ameya Bansod and Ankit Rathi, who defeated Nilesh Jibhenkar and Rajkumar Batra 15-12, 15-9. The mixed doubles 35+ final was won by Piyush Makhe and Manisha Bhawatkar, who beat Pinaki Mukherjee and Madhavi Kashikar 15-4, 15-12. In the men's 55+ singles, Manoj Lenghe triumphed over Vivek Aniwal 15-13, 15-10.
