Nagpur: In a stunning upset at the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav, Prashbadi Shyamkunwar mounted a remarkable comeback to defeat top seed Purvi Kaur Renu and secure a place in the U-15 girls table tennis final. The match, held at the Ramjeevan Chaudhary Haoo in Mahal on Thursday, saw Prashbadi lose the first game 9-11 before dominating the next three with scores of 11-3, 11-7, and 11-5.
Other Semifinal Results
In the other U-15 girls semifinal, Kevika Nandeshwar outlasted Sachi Mate in a grueling five-game battle. After dropping the first two games 5-11 and 6-11, Kevika rallied to win 11-8, 11-9, and 11-3 to book her spot in the final.
Boys U-15 Category
In the boys' U-15 category, Karan Kashyap advanced to the final with a straight-games victory over Stavya Fuley, winning 11-4, 11-2, 11-2. Laksh Chandak also secured his place in the final by defeating Raghav Sarda 11-5, 11-5, 11-6 in the other semifinal.
U-13 Results
In the U-13 girls category, Prashbadi Shyamkunwar (who also competed in U-15) defeated Sai Gunjal 11-6, 11-9, while Shirin Meshram beat Kamika Singh 11-4, 11-3 to set up a final clash. In U-13 boys, Laksh Chandak defeated Atharv Singh 11-2, 11-4, and Reyansh Pendharkar beat Sarvadnya Gunjal 11-7, 11-6 to reach the final.
The tournament continues to showcase promising young talent from the region.
