Jaipur witnessed a spectacular display of talent as young badminton players from Rajasthan made their mark at the prestigious Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub-Junior (U-15 & U-17) Ranking Badminton tournament. The event, currently underway at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium, saw local shuttlers Garvit Barwar, Aaradhya Jodha, and Deshna Jain achieve remarkable twin successes on Saturday, showcasing the state's growing prowess in the sport.

Dominant Performances in U-17 Categories

The trio from Rajasthan demonstrated exceptional skill across various disciplines. In the U-17 mixed doubles, the formidable pair of Garvit Barwar and Deshna Jain delivered a commanding performance, defeating the Haryana combination of Ayan and Arshiya with straight-game scores of 15-10 and 15-3. Barwar continued his winning streak in the U-17 boys singles, overpowering Maharashtra's Vikrant Negi with a decisive 15-6, 15-9 victory.

Girls Doubles and Mixed Doubles Triumphs

Deshna Jain partnered with Aaradhya Jodha to secure another win for Rajasthan in the U-17 girls doubles. The duo outplayed Delhi's Aarnvi Gupta and Lavanya, clinching the match 15-6, 15-13. Meanwhile, in another mixed doubles encounter, Rudraksh Middha and Aaradhya Jodha staged an impressive comeback to oust Bihar's Ishant Raj and Somya. After dropping the first game 12-15, they fought back to win the next two games 17-15 and 15-13, showcasing remarkable resilience.

Success in U-15 and Additional U-17 Matches

The success extended to the U-15 category, where Shreyansh Chaudhary and Padmaja from Rajasthan triumphed over Telangana's A Thamanneni and P Pappanagari with scores of 15-13, 15-11. In another U-15 mixed doubles match, T Shekhawat and K Sharma edged out Delhi's Karthik Joyal and Pawani in a closely contested battle, winning 15-12, 19-17.

In the U-17 boys singles, Kandarp Sharma delivered a dominant performance, thrashing Telangana's Sririshi Kotagiri 15-5, 15-8. Devashish Prajapat also secured a hard-fought victory against Tamil Nadu's Arjun A, winning both games 15-13. The boys doubles category saw Devansh Tomar and Akshat Shekhawat qualify for the main draw after a thrilling match against Telangana's Sai Bhattaraju and Manvik Reddy, which they won 17-15, 16-14.

In another U-17 boys doubles match, the pair of Ashmita Chaudhary from Rajasthan and Janiya Rao from Haryana received a walkover from Tamil Nadu's Radhvikishree and Mokshagna. Meanwhile, Maharashtra's Sairaj Nayse and Manipur's L Luwangamba entered the main draw by defeating Punjab's Om Garg and Vardhan Singh Gill with a convincing 15-3, 15-3 scoreline.
