Water Discharge Increases in Sutlej River
The Nathpa Jhakri Hydel Power Project released 145 cumecs of water into the Sutlej River on Sunday evening, significantly raising the river's flow. Additionally, JSW Tidong Power Generation Company Pvt. Ltd released 25 cumecs of water, contributing to the increased discharge.
Operational Releases and Safety Advisory
According to the companies, further water may be released from the barrage as per operational requirements if inflow increases. Following the additional discharge, authorities have advised people residing downstream along the riverbanks to remain alert and cautious.
