Two pilgrims lost their lives and 14 members of their family sustained injuries in a road accident on the outskirts of Batala city early Friday morning. The incident occurred when the tempo traveller they were traveling in collided with a truck on the Gurdaspur-Batala National Highway (NH) near Udhowal village at around 5 am.

Victims and Family Details

The 16-member family, residents of Mansa district and relatives of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Nem Chand Chaudhary, was returning from the Vaishno Devi shrine when the collision took place. The deceased have been identified as Bhushan Jain and Bilo Rani. The injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
