Ahmedabad: The maximum temperature on Saturday came down a notch from 42.7°C on Friday to 41.3°C. It was, however, still 1.6 degrees higher than normal. At 29°C, the minimum temperature, too, was 1 degree higher. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, the maximum temperature on Sunday is likely to be around 41°C.
Humidity and Monsoon Update
The relative humidity (RH) was 64% at 8.30am and 34% at 5.30pm. The IMD forecast for the state indicated that there will be no major change in the maximum temperatures for the next seven days. While the southwest monsoon has covered part of Maharashtra, the Met department forecast sees slim chances of the further progress of southwest monsoon in a couple of days. It is notable that the normal onset of southwest monsoon for Gujarat is around June 15.
Rainfall Outlook
The forecast indicated chances of light to moderate showers in parts of south Gujarat by the next week.
Hottest Cities in Gujarat
Bhavnagar was the hottest in the state at 41.9°C, followed by Ahmedabad (41.3°C). Gandhinagar, Vallabh Vidyanagar, and Rajkot recorded maximum temperature of 40.8°C while Kandla recorded 40°C.
