Australia, England, West Indies, South Africa reach semis

The four semi-finalists for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 have been confirmed after 30 high-intensity group-stage matches. Australia, England, West Indies, and South Africa will compete for the title, with the semi-finals scheduled at The Oval in London.

Australia's Dominant Run

Australia finished atop Group A with an unbeaten record, including a record-breaking chase against India at Lord's. They recorded the highest successful run-chase in Women's T20 World Cup history to defeat India by six wickets, securing their place in the semi-finals. Australia will face West Indies on Tuesday, June 30, at 2:30 p.m. local time (BST) at The Oval.

Australia is the most successful team in Women's T20 World Cup history, with six titles, the most recent in 2023. West Indies, their opponents, have won the tournament only once, a decade ago.

West Indies' Narrow Escape

West Indies began their campaign with three consecutive wins but lost their next two group matches against England and Ireland. They pipped Sri Lanka to a semi-final spot by virtue of a superior net run rate. Despite the rocky finish, West Indies secured second place in Group B and will look to challenge Australia.

England Unbeaten at Home

England have never lost a T20 or ODI World Cup they have hosted, and they have used that history as motivation. They won all five group matches, topping Group B. England will face South Africa in the second semi-final on Thursday, July 2, at 6:30 p.m. local time (BST) at The Oval.

South Africa's Quest for First Title

South Africa, finalists at the last two editions, are bidding to win their first Women's T20 World Cup. They lost only to Australia in a competitive group but looked shaky against Bangladesh and Pakistan. However, an inspired performance against India tilted the scales in their favour, securing their semi-final spot.

The winners of the two semi-finals will meet in the final at Lord's on July 5. Australia and West Indies clash on Tuesday, while England and South Africa play on Thursday, both at The Oval.
