BCCI to Host Grand NAMAN Awards Ceremony in New Delhi on March 15
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that its prestigious annual awards ceremony, known as NAMAN, will be held in New Delhi on March 15. This grand event will serve as a platform to honor and celebrate the remarkable achievements of multiple Indian cricket teams that have secured ICC trophies over the past year, marking a historic period for the nation's cricket.
Comprehensive Recognition for Title-Winning Squads
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the details, emphasizing that the ceremony will acknowledge India's extraordinary success across various formats and age groups. Players, coaches, and support staff from several victorious squads are set to be felicitated for their contributions to these landmark triumphs.
"The BCCI Awards ceremony will happen on March 15 in New Delhi. We are going to invite all the ICC tournament winners, including the recent T20 World Cup champions, as well as coaches," Saikia stated in an interview with IANS.
Five ICC Trophy-Winning Teams to Be Honored
The ceremony will specifically recognize the triumphant teams from the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Additionally, junior sides that excelled on the global stage will be celebrated. According to Saikia, the senior women's team, the Under-19 boys' side, and the Under-19 girls' team—each of which clinched ICC trophies in 2025—will also be part of the festivities.
"Apart from the senior men's team, the senior women's team, U19 boys side, and U19 girls team, who won the trophy in 2025, will also be invited," Saikia added.
In total, members from five Indian teams that captured ICC titles over the past year will be honored during the awards night. "We will also invite the 2025 Champions Trophy winning team members too. So, five ICC trophies won by various Indian teams during the course of last one year – all the members of those teams will be honoured on the awards night and it will be a great evening," Saikia elaborated.
Venue and Logistics for the Event
Reports indicate that the venue for the NAMAN awards is expected to be a five-star hotel located near the airport. This strategic choice considers the upcoming Indian Premier League season, which commences on March 28, as players from the men's squad will soon need to join their respective franchises. The proximity to the airport facilitates easier travel arrangements for the attendees, ensuring a smooth and efficient event.
The BCCI's initiative to bring together these champion teams underscores the board's commitment to recognizing excellence and fostering a culture of achievement within Indian cricket.
