The Bengaluru traffic police have announced a series of measures aimed at ensuring public safety during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 final, scheduled to be held in the city. The comprehensive plan includes traffic diversions, parking restrictions, and enhanced crowd management protocols to facilitate smooth movement and prevent any untoward incidents.
Traffic Diversions and Parking Restrictions
To manage the expected influx of spectators, the police have identified specific routes for diversion. Key roads leading to the stadium will be closed or converted to one-way traffic during peak hours. Parking will be prohibited in certain areas, and designated parking zones have been set up at a distance from the venue. Commuters are advised to use public transport and avoid private vehicles to reduce congestion.
Enhanced Crowd Management
Additional personnel will be deployed at the stadium and surrounding areas. CCTV surveillance will be intensified, and drones will be used for aerial monitoring. Emergency response teams, including medical and fire services, will be on standby. The police have also coordinated with the stadium authorities to ensure proper entry and exit arrangements.
Residents and visitors are urged to cooperate with the authorities and follow the guidelines. The traffic police have requested the public to plan their journeys in advance and stay updated through official channels. Any violation of traffic rules will be dealt with strictly.
