A tragic road accident occurred late Monday night on National Highway 27 near Phardua village in Baran district, Rajasthan. A private sleeper bus traveling from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, to Kota overturned, resulting in the deaths of two passengers and injuries to 14 others.
Details of the Accident
The incident took place on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. According to Kasbathana Station House Officer (SHO) Yogesh Sharma, the bus was carrying several passengers when the driver lost control, most likely due to drowsiness. The vehicle veered off the road and overturned into a roadside field.
Victims Identified
The deceased were identified as Shakshi Kushwah (16), a resident of Kishanganj in Baran, and Radheshyam Bheel (58), a resident of Kota city. Both died on the spot. Among the 14 injured passengers were women and children. Three of the injured, who sustained serious injuries, were referred to a higher health center for advanced treatment.
Police Action
Police registered a case against the bus driver after the preliminary investigation. The bodies were handed over to the families following post-mortem on Tuesday morning. SHO Sharma confirmed that the driver's drowsiness was the primary cause of the accident.
