CBSE Class XII Re-evaluation Portal Open to All Banks, Not Just SBI, Canara, BoB, Indian Bank
CBSE: Re-evaluation Portal Open to All Banks, Not Just Four

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday clarified that students applying for verification and re-evaluation of Class XII answer sheets do not need to hold accounts with State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, or Indian Bank to make payments on its online portal. The clarification came amid confusion among candidates following the launch of the system earlier this week.

Payment Options Clarified

In a statement issued on X, CBSE explained that the portal merely uses payment gateways operated by the four public sector banks. “Candidates may use the available online payment options — UPI, net banking, credit card and debit card — through the designated gateways,” the board said. This announcement followed allegations on social media that the re-evaluation portal appeared to restrict payments to customers of these four banks.

Cyberattack Attempt Repelled

CBSE also reported that the portal was functioning smoothly despite a major cyberattack attempt on Tuesday. Within minutes of its launch, the system faced a barrage of denial-of-service attacks, generating nearly 1.5 million hits on the portal in two minutes, along with more than one lakh attempts at unauthorized file access. The board stated that its technical teams have been working continuously to maintain the stability and security of the platform.

Application Statistics

As of 12 noon on Wednesday, the portal had accepted 4,924 applications for verification and 39,056 applications for re-evaluation, totaling 43,980 applications. CBSE urged students to rely only on official CBSE communication for information regarding the process.

Background

The verification and re-evaluation facility was opened on June 2 for students who had earlier obtained scanned copies of their answer books evaluated under the board’s new digital On-Screen Marking (OMS) system. The facility aims to provide transparency and allow students to seek a review of their evaluated answer sheets.

CBSE continues to monitor the portal and ensure a secure and user-friendly experience for all candidates. The board reiterated that no specific bank account is required, and all major online payment methods are accepted.
