The Dallas Cowboys adopted a Mission: Impossible style for their 2026 NFL schedule release, featuring three Tylers as part of a Tyler Intelligence Agency (TIA): offensive linemen Tyler Booker, Tyler Guyton, and Tyler Smith. The agents receive covert, spy-themed missions against every 2026 opponent, utilizing gadgets and puns to highlight schedule matchups.
When they reach the Los Angeles Rams matchup, the comedic approach takes a serious turn based on game-specific intel. The video includes four characters: quarterback Matthew Stafford, his wife Kelly Stafford, 2026 rookie quarterback Ty Simpson, and head coach Sean McVay. The setting is Los Angeles, and the new recruit is Ty Simpson. The mission is to infiltrate the LA team, one of two. Intel reveals that the head coach appeared frustrated by the acquisition of the new recruit. Quarterback Matthew Stafford has not reached out, but he has developed one connection: Ty Simpson is heard saying, 'Kelly has actually texted me, but I can't wait to talk to Matthew.'
One of the Cowboys' Tylers says, 'I told him (Ty Simpson) to get close with Matthew and his family. When our game comes up, he'll be a little more distracted than usual. We have this game in the bag, guys.'
There are two shots taken at Matthew Stafford and his family. One is that the Stafford family is always present on the sidelines cheering for him. The family includes his wife, Kelly, and their four daughters: twins Sawyer and Chandler, Hunter, and Tyler. Another shot is a serious one involving Kelly Stafford. In June 2025, Kelly admitted during a podcast appearance that she dated Matthew's backup quarterback just to get under his skin. 'I dated the backup to piss him off, which worked — he was the bad boy too. Matthew's so sweet and a Southern gentleman and all that stuff. And the backup was the complete opposite, and it upset him.'
Cybercitizens concluded that the backup could have been Joe Cox, Matthew's teammate from 2006 to 2008 and his backup at the University of Georgia. However, unwanted attention later went toward the Cox family, leading to Kelly's social media post stating: 'To this beautiful fam… I am sorry for the media storm that happened last week that made its way into your lives. You had ZERO involvement in what I spoke about and in fact, it was y'alls relationship in college that I looked up to and wanted for me and Matthew. You were the couple that everyone thinks Matthew and I was.. y'all were the UGA QB and cheerleader that met and never let go. I love y'all.'
Though the specific backup Kelly dated to anger Matthew has not officially come to light, the Dallas Cowboys allegedly fanned the flames of an old flame connection through their 2026 schedule release video by bringing in a potential future backup, Ty Simpson.
