Former Indian cricket captain Sunil Gavaskar has urged the Mumbai Indians (MI) to field younger players in their remaining Indian Premier League (IPL) fixtures. Speaking to a sports news channel, Gavaskar said, “Mumbai Indians have been a champion team, but this season has not gone according to plan. Now that they are out of the playoffs, they should look to give chances to younger players. This will help them build a strong core for the future.” He emphasized that the franchise has a rich history of nurturing young talent, such as Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya, and should continue that trend.

Mumbai Indians have had a disappointing campaign, winning only a few matches out of many played. Their batting and bowling units have struggled to find consistency, leading to an early exit. Despite having experienced players like Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, the team failed to click as a unit.
