Honda City Facelift Set for May 22 Launch with Design Tweaks and New Features
Honda City Facelift Launching May 22 with Updates

Honda Cars India is gearing up to launch an updated version of its popular sedan, the Honda City, with the facelift scheduled to debut on May 22. This update aims to bolster the City's standing in a competitive segment that includes rivals such as the Volkswagen Virtus and Hyundai Verna.

Second Facelift for Current Generation

This marks the second update for the current-generation Honda City, and it is expected to bring a blend of subtle design refinements and additional features. The changes are designed to keep the sedan fresh without altering its core identity.

Exterior Updates

On the outside, the modifications are expected to be evolutionary rather than revolutionary. Buyers can anticipate minor revisions to the headlamps and tail-lamps, along with redesigned bumpers and a new set of alloy wheels. The overall silhouette of the sedan is likely to remain unchanged, preserving its familiar profile.

Interior Enhancements

The cabin is where most of the updates are anticipated. The facelifted model may feature a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. Additional expected features include a powered driver's seat, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and updated Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). New upholstery options are also likely to refresh the interior ambiance.

Powertrain Unchanged

Under the hood, the Honda City is expected to retain its existing powertrain options. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 119 bhp and 145 Nm, will continue to be offered with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The strong hybrid variant, which combines a petrol engine with an electric motor for a total output of 124 bhp, will also remain available with an e-CVT transmission.
