India have retained their position at the top of the ICC Men's ODI Team Rankings while also moving up one place in the Test standings following the annual rankings update released on Wednesday. The update, which considers performances from the past three years, saw India consolidate their dominance in the 50-over format with 121 rating points, ahead of second-placed Australia (118 points) and third-placed England (115 points).
Test Rankings Shuffle
In the Test rankings, India climbed one spot to second place with 119 rating points, pushing Australia down to third. Australia, who were previously second, now sit third with 116 points, while New Zealand top the Test charts with 122 points. The annual update also saw Pakistan drop one place to fifth, while South Africa remained steady in fourth.
ODI Rankings Stability
The ODI rankings saw minimal changes at the top, with India, Australia, and England holding their positions. New Zealand and Pakistan complete the top five in ODIs. The update also reflected the strong performances of teams like Afghanistan, who gained two points to reach 90, and Ireland, who moved up one place to 12th.
Among individual rankings, India's Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma remain in the top 10 ODI batsmen, while Jasprit Bumrah leads the ODI bowlers' chart. In Tests, Kohli is the highest-ranked Indian batsman at fourth, while Ravichandran Ashwin is the top-ranked Indian bowler at second.
The annual rankings update is based on matches played up to May 2026, with older results gradually phased out. India's consistent performances across formats have solidified their status as a powerhouse in world cricket.
