The Kanpur District Cricket Association (KDMA) Cricket League witnessed a thrilling day of action on Friday as five clubs registered impressive victories across multiple venues in the city. Riders Club, Rovers Club, BVS, Glory Club, and Kanpur Eaglets Club all defeated their respective opponents in matches characterized by strong batting displays and disciplined bowling performances.
Riders Club Dominates with Seven-Wicket Victory
At the PAC Ground, Riders Club delivered a commanding performance to defeat JD Club by seven wickets. JD Club posted a total of 149 runs, with Aman contributing 46 and Siddharth Seth adding 32. However, the Riders Club bowling attack, led by Aditya Shukla who took 4 wickets for just 19 runs and Pratyush Singh with 3 wickets for 13 runs, restricted the opposition effectively.
In response, Riders Club chased down the target comfortably, finishing at 150 for the loss of only 3 wickets. Lavish Srivastava played a stellar innings, scoring 80 runs, while Shadhwat Bandoh provided solid support with 52 runs. Aditya Chandra managed to take one wicket for JD Club, conceding 13 runs.
Rovers Club Prevails in High-Scoring Encounter
Meanwhile, at the Kanpur South A Ground, Rovers Club secured a 30-run victory over Khandekar Cricket Academy in a match that saw plenty of runs. Rovers Club batted first and posted a formidable total of 247 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Ghanshyam Upadhyaya was the standout performer with a brilliant 84, and Rohit Yadav contributed a valuable 51.
Khandekar Academy's bowlers, including Siddhant Tiwari, Sumit Yadav, Himanshu, and Deepanshu Singh, each took two wickets, but could not prevent the high score. In reply, Khandekar Academy was bowled out for 217 runs. Harshit Singh top-scored with 50, supported by Brajendra Singh (46) and Rahul Singh (39). Friends Sporting was limited to 127 runs, with Bhanu Pratap Singh scoring 42 and Anant Shukla 35. Shubham took 3 wickets for 32 runs and Yuvraj Singh claimed 2 for 10 for BVS, who then chased the target, reaching 128 for the loss of 4 wickets, led by Aditya Singh (25) and Ansh Choudhary (20).
Glory Club secured a comprehensive 9-wicket win over Wonder Women. Wonder Women managed only 118 runs for 9 wickets, with Neha Verma scoring 25. Virat Gupta was exceptional with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 11 runs. Glory Club then raced to 119 for the loss of just 1 wicket, thanks to Harshit Ji's explosive 75 and Kartik Bhalla's 39.
Kanpur Eaglets Club defeated Kanpur Sporting Union by 32 runs. Batting first, Kanpur Eaglets posted 191 runs, with Rajveer Singh scoring 46, Vinay Gupta 33, and Utkarsh Yadav 31. Ashmit Verma and Ashish Nishad each took 3 wickets for Kanpur Sporting Union.
