MG Motor India has officially launched the new MG Majestor SUV in the Indian market. The 4x2 automatic transmission variant is priced at Rs 40.99 lakh, while the 4x4 automatic transmission variant costs Rs 44.99 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). As the flagship internal combustion engine-powered model in MG's lineup, the Majestor competes directly with the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and Isuzu MU-X.
Pre-Bookings and Offers
Pre-bookings for the MG Majestor are already underway. Interested customers can reserve the SUV online or by visiting their nearest MG dealership with a token amount of Rs 41,000. The first 3,000 pre-bookers will receive a complimentary package that includes a five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, five years of roadside assistance, and a five-year labour-free service contract.
Engine and Performance
The MG Majestor is powered by a single 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 215 horsepower and 479 Nm of torque. It is paired with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. The SUV features a 4x4 system with an all-terrain management software called M-Hub, which offers up to 10 selectable terrain and drive modes. Additionally, it includes a crawl mode (M-Crawl) and three differential locks. The Majestor boasts a maximum water-wading capacity of up to 810 mm.
Design and Exterior
Design-wise, the MG Majestor sports a large Matrix-style grille flanked by Falcon-inspired daytime running lights and modern split headlamps at the front. The side profile highlights its premium stance with 19-inch alloy wheels. The rear features new connected LED tail-lights and a sculpted tailgate with 'Morris Garages' and 'Majestor' badging. Other exterior highlights include faux twin exhaust tips, a skid plate, an integrated spoiler, and a rear wiper with a washer.
Interior and Features
Inside, the dashboard has been completely redesigned with piano-black trim and silver accents for a modern feel. Key features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, MG's i-Smart 2.0 connected-car technology, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, electrically adjustable front seats with heating, cooling, and multiple massage functions, three-zone automatic climate control with rear-row vents, dual wireless charging pads, a panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters, 64-colour ambient lighting, and a gesture-operated powered tailgate.
Safety and ADAS
The MG Majestor comes equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure warning with prevention, and blind-spot monitoring. Standard safety features include electronic stability control, hill-hold and hill-descent control, ISOFIX mounts, a surround-view camera system, and six airbags.
