Patel Properties and Metador Foam XI Triumph in Cawnpore Cricket League
Kanpur witnessed exciting cricket action on Sunday as Patel Properties and Metador Foam XI emerged victorious in their respective matches of the Cawnpore Cricket League (T-20) at the Sapru ground and other venues.
Patel Properties Outplay Kanpur Warriors
In the first match, Patel Properties defeated Kanpur Warriors by 7 wickets. Batting first, Kanpur Warriors managed to score 110 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Saurabh Gupta top-scored with 33 runs, while Lavish Srivastava contributed 26 runs. For Patel Properties, Ripul Anand, Vikas Bharti, and Manindar Singh each took 2 wickets. In reply, Patel Properties chased down the target of 111 runs with ease, scoring 111 for 3 in 17.3 overs. Devendra made 25, Manindar Singh remained unbeaten on 31, and Ankul Jain scored 23 not out. Anand took 2 wickets for 16 runs for Kanpur Warriors. Manindar Singh was awarded the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
Metador Foam XI Dominate GTB Warriors
In another match, Metador Foam XI thrashed GTB Warriors by 8 wickets. GTB Warriors batted first and posted a competitive total of 166 for 8 in 20 overs. Abdul Rehman played a brilliant knock of 51 runs, while Gaurav scored 23 and Vaibhav remained unbeaten on 34. Ritesh was the pick of the bowlers for Metador Foam XI, taking 3 wickets for 32 runs, while Mission claimed 2 wickets for 16 runs. Metador Foam XI chased down the target in just 15.4 overs, scoring 168 for 2. Aviral Rawat smashed a magnificent 92 runs off 52 balls, hitting 10 fours and 4 sixes. Ashish Bajpai contributed 28 runs, and Brajesh remained unbeaten on 24. Gaurav took 1 wicket for 17 runs for GTB Warriors. Aviral Rawat was named Man of the Match for his explosive batting.
KDMA League: Campus Club Beat National Club
In the KDMA Junior Division League match held at the IIT ground on Sunday, Campus Club defeated National Club by 59 runs. Campus Club batted first and amassed a huge total of 219 runs in their allotted overs. Shubh scored 50, Ankur made 34, Akhiulesh contributed 28, and Anurag added 22 runs. Pramod took 2 wickets for 25 runs for National Club. In reply, National Club could only manage 160 for 8 in their innings. Shivansh top-scored with 43, Krishna made 33, and Archit scored 19. Arnav Kulkarni was the star bowler for Campus Club, taking 3 wickets for 27 runs, while Bhskar Tiwai and Saurabh each took 2 wickets.
Trials for U-15 Cricket Tournament Conclude
The trials for the Moti Ram Advocate Under-15 cricket tournament concluded on Sunday at the Kanpur Cricket Association (KCA) grounds. As many as 130 young aspirants appeared on the second and final day of the trial. According to Kaushal Kishore Singh, secretary of KCA, eight teams will be formed from the selected young cricketers, and they will compete in the upcoming tournament.
