KKR's middle-order struggles during the previous season, where positions four through eight failed to deliver consistent performances, remain a concern for the coaching staff. However, Nayar stressed that past performances would have minimal impact on the upcoming campaign, citing Sanju Samson's remarkable turnaround before the T20 World Cup as an inspirational example.
"We saw that with Sanju Samson in the World Cup as well. It's about being there at that moment in this tournament," Nayar explained. "And if you're in good form, it doesn't matter what your name is in this format of the game. I think form counts a lot more than what's happened in the past."

The KKR head coach elaborated on his philosophy regarding T20 cricket, emphasizing the importance of current momentum over historical performance: "I've always believed T20 cricket is a game of momentum. It's a game of form. So what happened a year ago doesn't really matter as to what's going to happen. I think something that is going to be really important is the kind of form our boys hit this season."
Nayar expressed confidence that if all players reach their peak performance levels, the team could replicate their successful campaign from two seasons ago.
