Raipur Rhinos continued their dominant run in the third edition of the Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League (CCPL) with a third consecutive victory, while Raigarh Lions secured a 19-run win over Rajnandgaon Panthers in the opening match of the day at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Nava Raipur on Saturday.

First Match: Raigarh Lions vs Rajnandgaon Panthers

In the first match, Raigarh Lions posted a competitive 184 for 7 after being asked to bat first by Rajnandgaon Panthers. Openers Sangeet Soni and Rishabh Tiwari laid a solid foundation with a 99-run opening partnership. Soni struck a fluent 59, while Tiwari contributed 31 runs. For the Panthers, Satyam Dubey and Aryan Jaiswal claimed two wickets apiece to keep the scoring in check during the latter stages of the innings.

Chasing 185, Rajnandgaon Panthers fought hard but were restricted to 165 for 8 in their 20 overs. Sahil Rajat Sharif top-scored with 38, while Ashish Kumar Dahariya made 30 and Aman Tripathi added 27. Raigarh Lions bowlers maintained control in the middle overs, with Praveen Kumar Yadav leading the attack with three wickets. Shubham Agrawal and Shoumya Keshri chipped in with two wickets each. The Lions eventually sealed a 19-run victory, with Praveen Kumar Yadav being named Player of the Match for his decisive spell.

Second Match: Raipur Rhinos vs Bastar Bisons

Later in the day, Raipur Rhinos produced another commanding performance to outclass Bastar Bisons and strengthen their position in the tournament standings. After winning the toss and opting to field, the Rhinos bundled out Bastar Bisons for 124 in 19.3 overs. Anuj Tiwari top-scored with 35, while Ambrish Kumar and Dev Aditya Singh contributed 25 and 21 respectively. Ashish Chouhan and Mayank Yadav starred with the ball, picking up two wickets each.

In reply, Raipur Rhinos chased down the target comfortably, reaching 126 for 5 in just 15.1 overs. Harsh Sharma anchored the chase with an impressive 56, while Amit Yadav provided valuable support with a 30-run knock. Sourabh Majumdar was the lone bright spot for Bastar Bisons with two wickets, but the total proved insufficient against the Rhinos' strong batting line-up. Raipur Rhinos completed the chase with ease to register a comprehensive victory and maintain their unbeaten streak in the competition. Harsh Sharma was adjudged Player of the Match for his match-winning half-century.
