RCB Concede Most IPL Centuries After Sudharsan Ton

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) set an unwanted IPL record on Friday as Gujarat Titans batter Sai Sudharsan smashed a century against them at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in the 2026 season. This was the 15th individual hundred conceded by RCB in IPL history, the most by any team, surpassing Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians, who have each conceded 14.

Most Centuries Conceded by a Team in IPL

  • 15 – Royal Challengers Bengaluru
  • 14 – Kolkata Knight Riders
  • 14 – Mumbai Indians
  • 11 – Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad
  • 10 – Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings

Sudharsan returned to form with a 57-ball century, his third in the IPL and first of the 2026 season. Opening the innings with captain Shubman Gill, he added 128 runs for the first wicket after RCB opted to bowl first. His knock gave Gujarat a strong platform for a big total.

Fastest to 2,000 IPL Runs

Sudharsan also entered the IPL record books by becoming the fastest batter to complete 2,000 runs in the tournament. He reached the milestone in just 47 innings, surpassing Chris Gayle, who took 48 innings. Sudharsan needed 72 runs before the match to break the record, and he achieved it during his century, taking his overall tally beyond 2,000 runs.

Batting first, Gujarat Titans finished at 205/5 in 20 overs, with RCB bowlers managing to control the scoring in the death overs after Sudharsan's dismissal. Earlier, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar won the toss and elected to bowl. English batter Jacob Bethell made his season debut, replacing the injured Phil Salt in the only change to the RCB lineup. Shubman Gill-led GT made two changes, handing a debut to West Indies allrounder Jason Holder and bringing Manav Suthar back into the XI.
