RCB reclaim top spot in IPL 2026 with win over KKR

NEW DELHI: Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru reclaimed the top spot in the IPL 2026 points table on Wednesday with a commanding six-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in Raipur.

Kohli's masterclass powers RCB

RCB talisman Virat Kohli played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 105 off 60 balls to help the team chase down a target of 193 in 19.1 overs. This was their eighth win of the season, propelling them to the summit of the standings in the business end of the league stage.

With 16 points and an impressive net run rate (NRR) of +1.053, RCB overtook Gujarat Titans, who also have 16 points but trail on NRR. The Titans remain in second place.

KKR's playoff hopes take a hit

The defeat left KKR stranded in eighth position, keeping their playoff hopes alive only by the thinnest of margins. KKR's four-match winning streak came to an end despite posting a competitive total.

After RCB and GT, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings occupy the remaining two playoff spots with 14 and 13 points respectively.

Standings update after match 57

The rest of the standings remain unchanged after Match No. 57 of the 70-match league stage. Chennai Super Kings are fifth with 12 points, ahead of Rajasthan Royals on superior NRR, with both teams having three matches left each. Below them, Delhi Capitals and KKR are still mathematically alive in the playoff race. DC have 10 points from 12 games, while KKR have nine points from 11 games.

Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants are the only two teams eliminated so far this season.
