Roundglass Hockey Academy (RGHA) made history by becoming the first Indian junior hockey academy to win a tournament on Australian soil, clinching the International Youth Hockey Cup 2026 (U-18) in Sydney with a dominant 6-0 victory over hosts NSW Singhs in the final.
Unbeaten Campaign and Dominant Performance
Led by Coach Vikas Pal and managed by Olympian Sanjeev Kumar, the academy completed an unbeaten tournament campaign. After a goalless first quarter, RGHA exploded with four goals in the second quarter. Amandeep opened the scoring in the 17th minute from a penalty corner, followed by Anurag Singh converting another penalty corner in the 19th minute. Gautam (25th) and Razzaq Ali (29th) added field goals to give a 4-0 halftime lead. Varinder Singh scored the fifth goal in the 45th minute, and Amandeep sealed the win with his second goal in the 60th minute.
Staggering Goal Tally Across Six Matches
RGHA scored a total of 37 goals across six matches. They opened with an 8-0 win over NSW Lions, followed by a 5-0 victory over Team Majulah Singapore. They defeated NSW Singhs 5-2, Bobby Academy 6-1, and Shepparton Hockey Academy 7-1 in the league stage. The final victory capped their dominant run.
Second International Title of the Year
This was RGHA's second international title in 2026, having previously won the Sikh Union Club Nairobi Centenary Celebrations Hockey Tournament in Kenya in May.
