Speaking after the presentation, the former Mumbai Indians captain expressed heartfelt thanks to the team, support staff, and everyone associated with the franchise. He emphasized that their collective efforts were crucial in shaping both his personal journey and the team's success. "Thanks, Polly, Hardik, Surya, Mali, and also the rest of you all, thank you so much. It couldn't have been what it is for me without the effort of all you guys. This is a very, very special team. Very, very special franchise. Very, very special people are involved in this team. Yes, we won five trophies, but obviously we all know that it is not possible without an effort of the entire team who is involved in making this franchise so, so special," Rohit stated.
He also reflected on how his time with the Mumbai Indians helped him develop as a leader, crediting those who supported him during this transformative phase. "I wouldn't have learned the art of being a leader if it was not for this franchise. Obviously, there's a lot of people to thank for that. A lot of people helped me grow into that leadership role and also now as a player as well, you know, there's been immense support from everyone, you know, even the guys who are not here. I sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, would like to thank everyone for making this special journey. Like obviously Polly (Pollard) keeps saying, long may that continue for this franchise and long may that continue for all the players, staff and everybody," he added.

Rohit Sharma concluded by expressing his hopes for the future, urging the team to continue building on its impressive record. "Let's keep this legacy of this franchise growing higher and higher," he said, highlighting his commitment to the Mumbai Indians' ongoing success and growth in the IPL.
