Speaking immediately after Pakistan's narrow 11-run loss in the third and decisive ODI match in Dhaka, Shehzad directed his frustration squarely at captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and head coach Mike Hesson. He accused the team management of consistently making excuses rather than addressing the deeper, systemic issues plaguing the squad.
"After the pathetic T20 World Cup campaign, you did not make any meaningful changes. You brought youngsters out of nowhere without proper planning. Now you have lost the series against Bangladesh, and you are giving excuses about having youngsters in the playing XI," Shehzad stated emphatically. "When you refuse to accept your fundamental mistakes, you will never move ahead in life or in cricket."
