Kanpur: In a thrilling final of the JNT U-12 tournament held on Sunday evening, Sigma Griplock XI emerged victorious by defeating Prime Enlighten XI by 9 wickets, securing the prestigious Sigma-Griplock trophy. The match took place at a local ground in Kanpur, drawing cricket enthusiasts and dignitaries.

Prime Enlighten XI, after being put into bat first, managed to score 114 runs in their allotted 25 overs. The innings was anchored by Adrik Diwahaliya who played a brilliant knock of 52 runs, while Saharsh Vats contributed 14 runs and Shivansh Rai remained unbeaten on 11. However, the Sigma Griplock bowlers were impressive, with Devansh Dubey taking 3 wickets for 15 runs, and Krishna Yadav claiming 2 for 9. Rupesh and Aditya Yadav also chipped in with one wicket each.
Chasing a modest target of 115, Sigma Griplock faced an early setback when opener Abhay P Singh was clean bowled by Arijit on the very first ball of the innings, sending shockwaves through the camp. The final was inaugurated by Prem Manohar Gupta, Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA). After the match, the chief guest Sanjay Kapoor, Chairman of UPT20 League, along with Kanpur Cricket Association President Navneet Jain and other special guests, presented trophies and prizes to the players. Krishna Yadav was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance, and he was also declared the Best Player of the Final and Player of the Tournament.
