Three Youths Killed in Ropar as Car Hits Parked Truck

In a tragic road accident near Bharatgarh in Ropar district, three youths lost their lives when their car slammed into a parked truck in the early hours of Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Himanshu Sanan (24), a resident of Raj Nagar Mohalla, Nangal; Archit, a resident of Sector 4, Naya Nangal; and Arpita, a resident of Hoshiarpur district.

According to police, the accident occurred around 4 am when the three were reportedly heading for a trip. The impact was so severe that the car was completely mangled, leaving little chance for survival. Archit and Arpita died on the spot, while Himanshu was critically injured and rushed to Chandigarh for treatment. He succumbed to his injuries upon reaching Mohali.

Police Investigation Underway

ASI Sartaj Singh, in-charge of the Bharatgarh police post, stated that preliminary investigations suggest the driver may have dozed off at the wheel, causing the vehicle to veer out of control and crash into the stationary truck. He added that the exact circumstances are being thoroughly investigated.

The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom over Nangal. Family members are devastated, and residents have expressed shock and grief over the untimely deaths. The incident highlights road safety concerns regarding vehicles parked on roadsides and the risks of driving while fatigued.
