A woman sustained a fractured leg after a speeding Safari SUV allegedly collided with her scooter in the Mansarovar area of Jaipur on Wednesday morning, according to police reports. The injured individual has been identified as Mewa Devi.
Accident Details
The incident took place at the Rajat Path intersection on New Sanganer Road, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Varun Path police station. Police stated that Devi was crossing the intersection on her scooter when a white SUV, approaching from Veer Teja Ji Road, struck her due to reckless driving. The force of the impact threw her onto the road, causing serious injuries.
At the time of the collision, a woman was also present inside the SUV alongside the driver. Following the crash, the driver fled the scene with the vehicle, police confirmed.
Injuries and Medical Response
The victim suffered a fracture in her thigh bone. Bystanders initially took her to a nearby hospital, and she was later transferred to another medical facility for advanced treatment.
Legal Action
The woman's daughter lodged a complaint, demanding strict action against the accused driver. Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on Thursday morning, and CCTV footage of the incident has emerged, which is expected to aid the investigation.
