A special football match was organized by the Daily Morning Football Club, based in Nawanshahr, to honor the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The event aimed to promote sports among young people and raise awareness against drug abuse, encouraging a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Event Details and Leadership

The match took place on March 23 at the ground of RK Arya College in Jalandhar. It was led by club president Ajay Mehra, with support from Principal Dr. Puneet Aneja. This initiative reflected the club's dedication to fulfilling the dreams of martyrs by inspiring the younger generation to adopt positive habits and stay away from harmful substances.

Match Highlights and Team Performance

According to Tarsem Lal, chairman of the club and District Mass Media and Information officer, the match featured two teams captained by Dheeraj Kumar and Ayush Gangad. In the first half, Dheeraj Kumar's team dominated the game. Dheeraj opened the scoring with a well-executed shot following a coordinated passing move. Sarabjit further strengthened the lead by scoring two goals, while Gurjot Singh Bajwa and Messi added one goal each, giving their team a strong advantage.

In the second half, Ayush Gangad's team made a determined comeback. Players such as Sukhmeet Bajwa, Vicky Guru, Tarsem Lal, and Rajveer created several opportunities. Sukhmeet Bajwa successfully converted one chance into a goal, and Minta Gur Puri added two more. Despite their efforts, the team was unable to close the gap due to strong defensive play by Sarabjit Singh and Gurjot Singh Bajwa. The match concluded with Dheeraj Kumar's team securing a 5–3 victory.

At the end of the match, participants paid tribute to Bhagat Singh by raising slogans of "Inquilab Zindabad" and pledged to work towards realizing his ideals. The event emphasized the importance of sports in building character and combating issues like drug abuse, aligning with the legacy of the freedom fighter.
