Bengaluru: In the wake of last year's tragic incident where 11 individuals lost their lives outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium while celebrating Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) IPL victory, the city police have imposed stringent restrictions on activities that could lead to crowding in public spaces or cause inconvenience to commuters during Sunday's IPL final match. RCB has secured a spot in the final, which will be held in Ahmedabad.

City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, in a press release, declared that live screenings of the match on LED screens in public places are strictly forbidden. “After the final match result is announced, the public must refrain from any form of celebrations in public places. LED walls facing roads cannot be set up without prior permission from the concerned authorities, and the match should not be telecast on existing LED walls. Screens must not be installed outside malls, pubs, or other establishments in a manner visible to the public for viewing the final match,” the release stated.
