Delhi Capitals' young all-rounder Madhav Tiwari opened up about his brilliant performance in the ongoing IPL 2026 season. Speaking after the match, Tiwari reflected on his journey as a batsman and bowler, the support he received from senior players in the Delhi Capitals squad, and the pressure he faced during the chase.
Batting and bowling journey
Tiwari credited his hard work in the nets for his all-round display. He said, 'I have been working on my batting and bowling consistently. The team management has given me a clear role, and I am trying to execute that.' The youngster also highlighted how practicing with Ashutosh Sharma helped him stay calm in crunch situations. 'Ashutosh bhai has a lot of experience, and his tips during practice sessions have been invaluable,' Tiwari added.
Support from DC seniors
The all-rounder expressed gratitude towards the senior players in the Delhi Capitals camp. 'The senior players have been very supportive. They keep telling me to back my instincts and not worry about the results. That confidence helps me perform better,' he said.
Pressure during the chase
Reflecting on the chase, Tiwari admitted that there was pressure but he focused on taking the game deep. 'I knew that if I stayed calm and rotated the strike, we could win. The plan was to target the bowlers in the death overs,' he explained.
Ambitions going forward
Looking ahead, Tiwari aims to contribute consistently for Delhi Capitals and hopes to earn a spot in the national team. 'My goal is to keep performing for DC and help them win matches. If I do that consistently, the rest will take care of itself,' he concluded.
