Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Ajinkya Rahane lauded Manish Pandey's work ethic and attitude after their convincing victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rahane emphasized that Pandey's dedication to training and positive mindset were instrumental in the team's success.
Rahane's Praise for Pandey
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Rahane said, "Manish has been working really hard in the nets. His attitude and commitment are exemplary. He always puts the team first, and today his performance reflected that." Pandey scored a crucial half-century, anchoring the innings and guiding KKR to a competitive total.
Key Contributions
Pandey's knock of 62 runs off 45 balls included seven boundaries and two sixes. His partnership with Andre Russell turned the tide in KKR's favor after early wickets. Rahane noted, "The way Manish handled pressure and built partnerships was outstanding. He showed great temperament."
Team Effort
Rahane also credited the bowlers for defending the total effectively. "Our bowling unit executed plans perfectly. Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine bowled tight spells, and the fielders supported them well," he added. KKR restricted MI to 168/7, winning by 15 runs.
Looking Ahead
With this win, KKR climbed to third place in the points table. Rahane stressed the need to maintain consistency. "We have to keep improving and learn from every game. The team is gelling well, and we are confident for the upcoming matches," he concluded.
