India’s budding boxers put up an impressive performance at the Under-17 Asian Boxing Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, securing a total of 17 medals. The contingent brought home 4 gold, 6 silver, and 7 bronze medals, marking a significant achievement for the country’s youth boxing program.
Gold Medalists
The gold medal winners included promising pugilists who dominated their respective weight categories. In the boys’ section, Akash Gaur (48kg) and Rohit Chamoli (60kg) clinched top honors. Among the girls, Nandini (50kg) and Kajal (66kg) stood atop the podium, showcasing exceptional skill and determination.
Silver and Bronze Achievements
The silver medalists were Yashpal (54kg), Vansh (63kg), Arjun (70kg), and Riya (46kg), Shivani (52kg), and Muskan (60kg) in the girls’ category. The bronze medalists included Sahil (57kg), Rahul (66kg), Sachin (75kg), Anjali (44kg), Priya (48kg), Neha (54kg), and Simran (63kg).
