Keyshawn Davis Expresses Willingness to Face Jake Paul in the Ring

Olympic silver medalist Keyshawn Davis has unequivocally stated that he is prepared to step into the boxing ring with Jake Paul should the opportunity arise. During a live stream at the Brand Risk 013 boxing event hosted by streamer Adin Ross in Miami, Davis was directly asked if he would ever fight Jake Paul. His response was swift and confident, leaving no room for doubt about his intentions.

Davis Recalls Watching Paul Spar with Shakur Stevenson

In the stream, Davis revealed that he was present when Jake Paul sparred with Shakur Stevenson, providing him with a firsthand look at the YouTuber-turned-boxer's skills. "You know I was there when Shakur sparred Jake Paul... Yeah, I was there," Davis told Ross. This sparring session occurred in October of last year as Paul was preparing for a potential fight with Gervonta Davis. Reports from boxing media and subsequent discussions by Stevenson indicated that the session demonstrated Paul's genuine commitment to the sport, despite his unconventional entry from social media fame.

Respect for Paul's Serious Approach to Boxing

Davis shared his candid observations from the spar, acknowledging the clear skill gap but expressing admiration for Paul's effort. "Jake Paul is serious about this," Davis said. "I am not going to lie. There are levels, of course, but just watching Jake Paul and how serious he was trying to hit Shakur when he really could not, I respected it." Stevenson also praised Paul's dedication after the session, noting that Paul displayed decent boxing ability for someone who began the sport after achieving YouTube stardom. The planned bout with Gervonta Davis that Paul was training for was ultimately canceled before it could materialize.

Davis's Current Boxing Pursuits and Rivalries

Meanwhile, Keyshawn Davis has been actively seeking more significant fights in the boxing world. He has recently called out Devin Haney, although negotiations for that matchup have stalled. Davis has also consistently avoided a fight with Shakur Stevenson, citing their close friendship and brotherly bond as reasons for not wanting to face him in the ring.

Another notable rivalry involves Andy Cruz, who defeated Davis four times during their amateur careers, including in the gold medal match at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Davis claimed he offered Cruz a professional fight, but Cruz denied receiving any such offer.

Recent Sparring Session with Influencer Boxer

Away from these discussions, Davis recently participated in a live sparring session with influencer boxer Deen The Great during a stream in Los Angeles. Davis easily controlled the session, landing clean punches while clearly holding back his full power. At one point, Deen attempted unconventional moves, including a takedown, but Davis calmly maintained control, leading Deen to end the sparring session shortly after.

No Official Announcement Yet, but Davis Is Prepared

As of now, no fight between Keyshawn Davis and Jake Paul has been officially announced. However, Davis has made his position clear: if the chance presents itself, he is ready and willing to take on the challenge, highlighting his respect for Paul's dedication to boxing while affirming his own competitive spirit.
