An X account called BoofNewz shared a 1-minute-14-second video of Travis Hunter with the caption: “Travis Hunter released a very emotional video revealing that his wife, Leanna, is leaving him and filing for a divorce, and he has to pay her $350k a month because she refused to sign a prenup. ‘She promised she would never leave me. I’m so heartbroken. I’m gonna go broke now.’” However, those who click and listen carefully realize Hunter is not discussing his wife but rather fishing and livestreaming.
Here is his actual monologue: “I’ve been with y’all for 30 days, I think I’m a unicorn now. Y’all gotta chill, bruh. Y’all trippin’, that ride is catchy. I don’t care what nobody says. I don’t care who says it’s bad, can’t lie, it’s catchy. Y’all drunk, catchy. No count. Y’all sure I be the fishing streamer? Because nobody stream like fish for real. So, I can take all the top streamers like fishing. Take all the top streamers fishing, you know how that be. How them boys help with the fishing. Hold on, let me back in. Travis Hunter is in a car, likely heading to fish, with his phone livestreaming. He is focused on becoming a fishing streamer because, as he notes, nobody livestreams fishing. A coach had previously mentioned Hunter's deep love for fishing.
