WWE SmackDown aired the May 29 episode from the Olympic Arena in Badalona, Barcelona, Spain. This was the go-home edition for WWE Clash in Italy, featuring numerous exciting matches. The show concluded with a confrontation between Cody Rhodes and Gunther, which included many personal remarks and jabs, building anticipation for Clash in Italy on Sunday.
Opening Segment
Jade Cargill, alongside Michin and B-Fab, opened the show. Cargill addressed her upcoming title match against Rhea Ripley at WWE Clash in Italy. Ripley interrupted, joined by Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. After a verbal exchange, Nick Aldis made a match between Bliss and Cargill.
Alexa Bliss vs. Jade Cargill
This singles match was the opening contest of the night. It was an exciting bout between the two top stars. In the final moments, Jade Cargill got her knees up as Alexa Bliss attempted a Twisted Bliss. Cargill followed with a pump kick and the Jaded to secure the win. She continued the attack until Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley came to Bliss' aid.
The Miz vs. Axiom
The Miz and Axiom had a singles match, which saw the lights going out repeatedly. In the final moments, Axiom connected with a Spanish Fly, followed by the Golden Ratio, on a distracted Miz to score the pinfall.
Damian Priest & Royce Keys vs. Talla and Tama Tonga
This tag team match saw R-Truth and Solo Sikoa brawl outside the ring as both teams displayed great action. However, confusion led Talla Tonga to hit the T-Bomb Chokeslam on Priest to win the match for his team.
Sami Zayn vs. Matt Cardona
This singles match between Sami Zayn and Matt Cardona went back and forth. However, Zayn hit a timely Exploder and Helluva Kick on Cardona to pick up the win.
Ricky Saints vs. Carmelo Hayes
The match was made after Ricky Saints and Carmelo Hayes interrupted an in-ring segment featuring US Champion Trick Williams and Lil Hatchy. The evenly matched contest saw both men being counted out, ending in a draw.
Chelsea Green vs. Nia Jax
Chelsea Green squared off against Nia Jax with Lash Legend in her corner. Jax dominated most of the match. However, Tiffany Stratton came out of nowhere and hit Jax with her belt while Jax was on the top rope. This allowed Green to pin her and emerge victorious.
Cody Rhodes and Gunther Segment
Cody Rhodes and Gunther went face-to-face in the final segment of SmackDown. It was a heated war of words and personal jabs between the two competitors set to battle at Clash in Italy as they looked forward to their Undisputed WWE title match.
