The Andhra Pradesh government and Google have agreed to set up a special task force to collaborate on artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and digital governance. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, during his visit to Singapore, held talks with Google Asia-Pacific President Karan Bajwa, seeking the company’s partnership in strengthening technology-driven governance in the state.
Naidu stated that the state aims to leverage advanced cloud technologies to enhance real-time governance and improve the delivery of public services. He proposed expanding AI skilling and cloud certification programs in partnership with Google to boost employment opportunities for the youth. The state also plans to establish AI and cloud computing centers in universities and engineering colleges and sought Google’s support in building a skilled workforce.
Inviting Google to collaborate on the ‘Sanjeevani’ healthcare project, Naidu emphasized that technology would be used to improve medical services.
Meeting with YCH Logistics
The Chief Minister also met YCH Logistics Group Head of Operations Sunil Nambiar to discuss the development of logistics parks and a tech-driven supply chain ecosystem. The talks included the possibility of setting up a large automated supply chain city. Naidu said the state is taking steps to reduce logistics costs and strengthen infrastructure, while highlighting the rising export potential in horticulture and aquaculture sectors.
Meeting with UN-Habitat
During his visit, Naidu met UN-Habitat Executive Director Anacláudia Rossbach and proposed establishing a Centre of Excellence in Andhra Pradesh. He offered land and sought collaboration in sustainable urban development, including urban planning, university partnerships, slum development, and innovative municipal financing.
Meeting with Singapore PM
Later, Naidu met Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and discussed cooperation in technology, semiconductors, AI, and research. He sought Singapore’s support in building a semiconductor ecosystem and urban governance for Amaravati. Wong inquired about Amaravati’s development, while both leaders expressed confidence in the growth of manufacturing, supply chain, and services sectors.
